I am a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy in Zagreb (Croatia) and served as its director from 2012 to 2020. My research interests include ancient philosophy (particularly Aristotle and ancient skepticism), philosophy of action, and ethics.

Abstract:  The concept of practical truth originates from Aristotle, but it was Elizabeth Anscombe who brought its significance to the forefront of contemporary philosophy. Anscombe bases her understanding of this concept on a distinct interpretation of Aristotle, shaped by her own theory of intentional action. This project has three main aims. First, I will assess Anscombe’s reading of Aristotle to determine whether, and to what extent, her account of practical truth can be considered Aristotelian. Second, I will examine the coherence of the concept itself. Third, I will explore whether it can serve as a bridge between the theory of intentional action and ethics.
