Council Of Nicaea Fresco 1

Andrew Radde-Gallwitz (Program of Liberal Liberal Studies, Classics, and Theology) and Gretchen Reydams-Schils (Program of Liberal Studies, Classics, Philosophy, and Theology) have set up a new collaboration with Johannes Zachhuber (Oxford University) and Anna Marmordoro (Oxford University/Durham, History of Philosophy Forum Distinguished Visitor) for Early Christian Philosophy.

The initiative consists of yearly colloquia (alternating between Notre Dame and other venues) on a Christian text, as well as a new book series to be published by Oxford University Press, called Library of Early Christian Philosophy.

Each interdisciplinary volume will provide an introduction, the original text, a translation, and a number of essays illuminating the philosophical aspects of these accounts in their theological contexts. The first volume, dedicated to Gregory of Nyssa's On the Six Days of Creation, is scheduled to appear in 2024.
