Location: DeBartelo 204

Annika Hand (Universität Koblenz), Visiting Max Kade Professor in the Department of German and Russian, will be giving a lecture entitled "Inexpressible Insight: The Edges of Consciousness in the Philosophy of Meister Eckhart and Nicolaus Cusanus."

Philosophical findings are usually formulated in logical language. However, our consciousness grasps far more than facts, which are immediately comprehensible to us in a structured way: in dreams, meditation, and contemplation, consciousness opens up border areas of the recognizable and the sayable. The lecture is addressed to philosophers, psychologists, theologians, musicians, in short: to all those who are familiar with these edges in one way or another.
